Vanuatu

The Republic of Vanuatu is composed of over 80 islands of which 65 remain uninhabited while about 50% of the population lives on the largest three islands[1]. Small scale agriculture provides a living for about two-thirds of the population, while fishing, offshore financial services, and tourism are important sectors of the economy[2]. The obesity rate for adults is at 25%, and most of the population does not have access to a reliable supply of potable water[3]. Finally, there is an international dispute with France over Matthew and Hunter Island.  Let’s Pray…

-Father, we thank you for the each island and every inhabitant in this nation. Yeshua, just as your disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit on Pentecost, we pray for this same infilling of the Holy Spirit upon your believers in this nation. Let your Holy Spirit be poured out from Heaven onto each household, and may your gift of tongues rest upon the souls of each believer. We pray for an overflowing of your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control upon each household on each island, in Jesus name we pray. Father, as this nation continues to walk in alignment with you, we pray for protection over its people from natural disasters.*

-God, we pray for the provision of potable water and clean sanitation facilities for every person in Vanuatu. We also pray for a blessing over the agricultural, fishing, and tourism sectors and that you would bless the hands of the laborers.

-God, we pray for equal rights to be established on the islands and that gender rights would be upheld and new thought processes would arise amongst leadership.

-God, we pray for the obese population and we ask for wisdom and grace in encouraging them towards healthier diets and lifestyles. Father, we also pray for the tourists who visit and we pray that they would experience your Holy Spirit’s gentle touch of grace, and that they would experience your fingerprints as they explore the islands.

-God, we lift up the dispute over Matthew and Hunter Islands. We pray for the wisdom of God to lead this situation and help leadership come to an understanding in peace. Amen.
