Equality
Genesis 1:27 teaches us that God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God. Male and female he created them. Later, in Leviticus 19:18, God calls us to love our neighbor as ourselves. We as followers of Jesus Christ fail daily at loving our neighbors who were created in God’s image. We let differences in skin tone, gender, age, ability, intelligence, beliefs, wealth, and nationality bring separation to everything that was purchased on the cross. Yes we have differences in many areas, but we are instructed to love despite these differences. Followers of Jesus Christ, lead in love.*
-Yeshua, on behalf of ourselves and all those who have claimed representation to your name Jesus, we repent for our sins of inequality. We repent for mindsets and actions of superiority to our neighbor. We repent for not loving our neighbor based on the color of their skin, gender, age, ability, intelligence, beliefs, wealth, and nationality. Jesus we receive your forgiveness in these areas, and we pray for a heart that pursues equality for our neighbor.
-God, help us to love you with all our heart, soul, and strength.** Release within us your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.*** Help us to be your change agents in all areas of inequality. Help us to love our neighbor with the same measure as the Samaritan.
-Father, we pray for the sins of inequality to be addressed worldwide. Father, stir the hearts of your leaders that they may rise up and press forth your justice and equality for all. Help your leaders worldwide to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with you God.*** God, we pray for nations and people groups to love despite our differences. Jesus, help our world love like you love us. Help us to draw near to you daily. Amen.
