Uganda

Uganda is a strong Christian nation which is being challenged by a growing Islamic influence[1].  Christian converts from Islam face family pressures and harassment from their Muslim communities, while some have even faced beatings, injuries, death[2]. The Holy Spirit is expanding the body of Christ in Uganda and reducing diseases like aids amongst the population. Currently, Uganda is serving as a home for about 1.3 million refugees from South Sudan, DRC, Burundi, Somalia, and Rwanda[3]. There are also 53,000 internally displace persons due to fighting in Northern Uganda[4]. This time in Uganda is an excellent opportunity for refugees to meet Christ. Additionally, Uganda is a source and destination country for the trafficking of men, women and children for the purposes of sex trafficking and forced labor[5].  Let’s Pray…

-God, we thank you for the work of your Holy Spirit in Uganda. Lord Jesus, we pray for the strengthening of each church in Uganda. May each Christian seek to love you with all their heart, all their soul, and all their strength. Just as you Jesus are the vine, and these Christians in Uganda are the branches, we pray that they would abide in you, and that you Jesus would abide in them, so they could bare much fruit for your kingdom.*

-God, we pray for your saints to bless the refugees in Uganda. May they display your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, that others would seek you Jesus Christ. Father, we pray over the refugees and internally displaced people in Uganda. God we pray for the provision of food, shelter, clothing, education, and clean sanitation facilities for these individuals. Father, we pray that each individual would develop a personal relationship with you God through Yeshua where they would seek to love you with all their heart, all their soul, and all their strength.**

-Jesus, we lift up the 5.2 million Islamic believers in Uganda.  We pray for you Holy Spirit to remove the scales from the blind, that they might see the false teachings of their religion and that they would seek out the only way, the only truth, and the only life that leads to eternity with our heavenly Father. God, let their tongues confess that your son Jesus Christ is Lord, and that your sacrifice washes their sins.

-We pray for peace in Northern Uganda. Father, we pray that you would speak to each member of the Lord’s resistance army, along with any other individual in conflict against the government. Holy Spirit, we pray for peace to be placed in their heart, and wisdom towards embracing peace. Thank you God.

-Yeshua, we lift up the victims of human trafficking in Uganda. God, we pray for angelic protection over each victim and potential victim in this nation. We pray that the fear of the Lord would rest upon these victims, and that your blood Yeshua would shatter their bondage and release freedom. We pray for emotional, mental, and physical healing over the captives. We ask for conviction to fall upon the guilty, and we pray your grace would lead them to repentance, salvation, and restoration.

-Lord Jesus, we pray for your hands to continue to bless the economy in Uganda. We pray for your blessing over the natural resources, the oil sector, and the coffee exports. We pray for favor over infrastructure development and growth over the sectors of agriculture, education, and health. Thank you God!
