Tanzania

Religious tensions have been growing between Tanzania’s two major faiths: Christianity and Islam[1]. Christians face harassment and societal pressures from Islamic extremists, while Christian converts have received death threats[2]. The economy is one of the poorest in the world in terms of per capita income, yet is growing in the areas of natural resources, wealth, and tourism[3]. One economic and human rights crisis in Tanzania includes the human trafficking of men, women, and children for the purposes of forced labor and sexual exploitation[4]. This nation also serves host to nearly 300,000 refugees from the DRC & Burundi[5]. Let’s Pray for God’s will to shine through this nation.

-God, we thank you for your grace that you pour out on your Tanzanians. Jesus, help each Tanzanian know that you are the Messiah, and that you wash away our sins and draw us near to the Father. Jesus, we pray for a covering of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control to pour out upon the people of Tanzania, and that each would seek you out with all their heart, all their soul, and all their strength. We pray for a special blessing over the Islamic community in Tanzania. Yeshua, we pray that you would reveal yourself to them, and that they would all receive your free gift of grace and salvation.*

-Yeshua, we lift up the nation of Tanzania and we ask for your grace in regards to ending human trafficking in this nation. Yeshua, we ask through your grace to enlist your heavenly angels to watch over and protect each victim and potential victim in Tanzania. We ask for the stationing of your angels in rural areas where traffickers seek victims. Bring conviction upon each trafficker that they may repent of their sins and live for you Yeshua. We pray that you would break the yoke of bondage upon victims in this nation, and that your blood Yeshua would release freedom in their hearts. We pray for emotional, mental, and physical healing over the victims and that they would rest in your loving arms Yeshua.

-Jesus, we pray for the economy of Tanzania and ask that you would continue to be the center of their economy. We pray for the development of schools, universities, roads, and hospitals. We also pray for the provision of healthy drinking water and for renewed land used for agricultural purposes and economic development.

-God, we pray for the 300,000+ refugees from the DRC & Burundi. God, we pray that you would provide for their basic needs alongside the provision of Godly fellowship. Lord Jesus, help them to come to know you and experience you through your Christians in Tanzania. Father, help them to thrive in their new land. If they eventually return home, may they return with Christ centered in their hearts.

-We lift up the ports of Tanzania, and we pray that you would keep these docks as holy ground. Let no drugs come through the ports of Tanzania. Let these drugs that are destined for the ports never arrive and instead be consumed by the waters. Convict the hearts of those producing and transporting drugs to repent and seek salvation in Jesus. Amen.
