Sudan

Sudan has struggled as a nation due to two civil wars resulting in 2 million deaths and 4 million displaced Sudanese[1]. In 2011, the South officially formed a new nation (South Sudan). 1/3 of the children under 5 are underweight in Sudan[2]. An already poor economy in Sudan has become even more impoverished with the secession of the South, which produced ¾ of the oil production[3]. Additionally, Sudan is a source, transit, and destination country for the human trafficking of men, women, and children[4]. Sudan is also the residence of 370,000 refugees and has 3.2 million internally displaced persons from the 22 year civil war and ongoing conflicts.  Let’s press forth the power and will of the Holy Spirit to lead freedom this day.

-Jesus, messiah, Savior, and friend, we pray for your redeeming power and grace to make all things new in Sudan. Jesus, we pray that you would continue to work amongst those fighting, amongst the poor, and amongst the slaves in Sudan towards your will. Lord Jesus, break through all the chains of the enemy that your salvation would pour out on Sudan like a drink offering. We pray for millions and millions of Sudanese to accept Christ and seek you God with all their heart, all their soul, and all their strength.*

-Jesus we pray that peace would flood the souls of those with hate. Lord Jesus, replace hate with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, that they would know the king of kings and Lord of Lords Jesus Christ.**

-Lord Jesus, we pray for the poor in Sudan. Father, we pray that you would defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; that you would maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Father rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. We pray for excellent drinking water, food, clothing, and shelter for the Sudanese population. God, help this nation train children in the way they should go, so that when they are old they will not turn from it. If hearts are unwilling to train children in the grace of Jesus Christ, send your angels to teach these precious children.***

-God, we lift up our persecuted brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ. God, we pray for protection, provision, and for your grace to continue to lead them as blessed leaders for your kingdom Jesus. We pray for each Christian to stand firm and be equipped with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, for their feet to be fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, for their shield of faith, their helmet of salvation, and their sword of the spirit-the word of God. Finally, let these believers pray in the Holy Spirit on all occasions.****

-Father, we lift up the refugees and internally displaced persons in Sudan. We pray for them to be surrounded by a life giving community and for your gospel to meet them where they are. We pray for supernatural provision for these people, and if it is in your plans to return them to their original communities, we agree over safe passageways and provision to return home.

-Jesus, we pray for freedom for your captives in and transiting through Sudan. Holy Spirit, we pray that you would convict this world of guilt concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment. Lord Jesus, free your captives from their physical and mental bondage.  Help them to be restored through the fullness of your grace and mercy. Help each captive place all their hope and trust in you Jesus. We pray that each person guilty of trafficking humans would repent and seek your face Jesus. Let the enemy have NO stronghold on slavery in Sudan-in the name of Jesus Christ we agree!!!
