Somalia
Somalia is a Muslim nation in which it is socially unacceptable to convert to Christianity. The terrorist group al-Shabab will execute any known converts or anyone found with Christian literature[1]. Above all other needs, this nation needs Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. In regards to human trafficking, it is difficult to acquire concrete information on Somalia’s potential trafficking crisis, but the Somali territory is believed to be a source, transit, and perhaps destination country for trafficked men, women, and children[2]. Let’s press forth God’s agenda of salvation through intercessory prayer…
-God, we lift up our Somali brothers and sisters in Christ. May these Christians dwell in the secret place of the most high, let them abide in the shadow of the Almighty. Father, in the midst of persecution, let them rest in your presence. We pray for each Christian to stand firm and be equipped with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, for their feet to be fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, for their shield of faith, their helmet of salvation, and their sword of the spirit-the word of God. Finally, let these believers pray in the Holy Spirit on all occasions. God, help your people do everything through You, the one who gives us strength.*
-Yahweh, we ask for wisdom and conviction to cover Somalia’s leaders in regards to combatting human trafficking. Yeshua, we ask for angelic assignments to protect each victim and potential victim in Somalia. We pray for freedom for the victims and for healing to be poured out on them. We pray for salvation to be received in their hearts. We pray for conviction and repentance to arise from the hearts of traffickers. We pray that they also would receive your son Yeshua as Lord and Savior.
-God we lift up the Islamic religion and every Muslim in Somalia. Lord Jesus, may you break through the poison of the Sharia Law, that the eyes of the blind would be opened. We pray that you God would pour out your spirit on all people, that their sons and daughters would prophecy, that their old men would dream dreams, and their young men would see visions.** Let the youth of this generation reject the lies of Islam and seek out redemption for their generation through the acceptance of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Let the blood of Christ cover the youth of this generation that they may live with Christ and for the will of God. Holy Spirit, help this generation produce many missionaries like Paul for Northern Africa and beyond.
-Yeshua, we lift up every member of the al-Shabab group. Holy Spirit, we pray for conviction to burn in their hearts for holiness. Burn in their hearts until they repent of their sins and receive you Yeshua as Lord and Savior. Turn their heart from evil to kingdom purposes. Father, use these children for your radical purposes in Somalia and Northern Africa.
-God, we lift up the refugees and internally displaced people in Somalia. Jesus, help these people to repent of their sins and receive your blood as atonement for their sins. Father, we pray for your hand of provision to lead these families and continue to meet their needs of food, clean water, shelter, clothing, and clean sanitation facilities. Help them to build communities where they can receive support and grow in relationship with you Jesus Christ.
