Papua New Guinea

The eastern half of New Guinea is known as Papua New Guinea, along with some smaller islands to the north and east including Bougainville. While natural resources are plentiful on the island, tapping them is a greater challenge due to financial investments required[1]. Mineral deposits of gold, copper, and oil account for nearly two-thirds of export earnings, while agriculture provides a subsistence livelihood for 85% of the people[2]. There are about 23,000 refugees and internally displaced persons living in Papua New Guinea[3]. Finally, Papua New Guinea is a source and destination country for women, men, and children subjected to sex trafficking and forced labor[4]. Let’s Pray…

-Father, we come before your holy throne and lift up the nation of Papua New Guinea to you. We first lift up the church, and the work you are doing through your people. We pray that they could establish a relationship with you where they seek to love you with all their heart, soul, strength, and mind. Father, let your will be done through your church, and may your church act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with you God. Father, help the lost come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ and lead them to be baptized in the Holy Spirit.*

-Father we pray over gender inequalities in this nation, and we pray for the Holy Spirit to press forth equality in this nation. We pray for protection over the vulnerable populations in this nation. Father, we pray that you would defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; that you would maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Father, rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.**

-God, we pray for a blessing on the economy. We pray for a diversification and increase of employment opportunities in this nation. We pray a blessing over the agriculture and mineral deposit sectors. We pray a blessing over business partners, and ask for an increase in every area of this nation. We also pray for clean water accessibility and clean sanitation facilities for every individual who lives here.

-Father, we lift up the refugee and internally displaced population in this nation. We pray for community, protection, and the love of Christ to surround them through your church. Father, release your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control on these communities and we pray that they would know you Jesus as Lord and Savior.***

-Father, we pray for healing over those who consume illegal drugs. Help them to rest with you and embrace your presence. Father, release them from their bondage and bring them into the life you have for them.

-Father, we lift up the victims of human trafficking crimes in Papua New Guinea. God, we pray for angelic protection over each victim and potential victim in this nation. We pray that the fear of the Lord would rest upon these victims, and that your blood Yeshua would shatter their bondage and release freedom. We pray for emotional, mental, and physical healing over the captives, and we pray for salvation for each captive. We ask for conviction to fall upon the guilty, and we pray your grace would lead them to repentance, salvation, and restoration.
