Niger

Niger is located in the North Central region of Africa, which is heavily populated with Muslims and is a highly persecuted region for Christians. While Christians are allowed to worship freely in Niger, there was a violent attack led on Christians in 2015[1]. In 2015, Niger was ranked by the UN as the least developed country in the world due to food insecurity, lack of industry, high population growth, a weak educational sector, and few prospects for work outside of subsistence farming and herding[2]. 63% of the population live in poverty[3]. Additionally, Niger is a source, transit, and destination country for women and children trafficked for the purposes of forced labor and sexual exploitation[4]. Let us trust the needs of this nation to the Lord Jesus Christ.  Let’s Pray…

-Jesus, we lift up your Christians in this region. We pray for each Christian to stand firm and be equipped with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, for their feet to be fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, for their shield of faith, their helmet of salvation, and their sword of the spirit-the word of God. Finally, let these believers pray in the Holy Spirit on all occasions.* Let your believer’s plant seeds that blossom into beautiful gardens that live repentant lives through the blood of Jesus Christ.

-Jesus, we lift up the Islamic community in Niger. Jesus, let the stronghold of the enemy be broken through the Holy Spirit, that ears may hear and eyes may receive your truth and find salvation through repentance in your name Jesus. We pray that you God would pour out your spirit on all people, that their sons and daughters would prophecy, that their old men would dream dreams, and their young men would see visions.** Let salvation be poured out upon Niger, that millions would come to know you King Jesus!

-Jesus, we pray for the captive that currently live in Niger. Father, remind them of your mercy and grace each day. Continue to protect their hearts and minds from the evil one. Holy Spirit, we pray that you would convict those in Niger of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness, and judgment for the trafficking of people.*** Jesus, use them to set the captives free and set their own hearts free through your blood Jesus. God, we pray that every captive in Niger would be set free through the blood poured out at Calvary, and we pray for emotional, mental, and physical healing over the captives. We pray that you would connect these individuals into Christian communities where you lead healing through the power of the Holy Spirit.

-Jesus, we acknowledge you as King over the universe and sovereign in Niger. Yeshua, we pray for surplus in food production and ask that each Nigerien would have a sufficient food resources. Father, we pray that you would pave the way for an increase in Niger’s GDP and employment through new industries which also further your plans for the kingdom of God. God, we lift up the educational sector in Niger and ask for your mercy and provision in receiving the resources necessary in providing high quality education for the people of Niger. Thank you for your presence in this nation Jesus and we pray for your sovereign leadership to guide this nation. Amen.
