Nepal

Nepal borders the northeastern territory of India and southwestern territory of China. The government has been evolving and transforming including a nationwide constituent assembly election in 2008 and a newly sworn in prime minister as of February of 2018[1]. In 2015, a massive earthquake struck Nepal killing and injuring many while also damaging many buildings. Nepal remains one of the poorest countries in the world, with 25% (7.6 million) of their population living in poverty[2].  Nepal’s inability to make significant economic growth is tied to its landlocked geographic location, persistent power shortages, underdeveloped transportation infrastructure, labor unrest, and its susceptibility to natural disaster[3]. Additionally, there are about 20,000 refugees and stateless persons living in Nepal[4]. The primary religion in Nepal is Hinduism, and the gospel of Jesus Christ is restricted in this nation. In 2017, parliament passed a bill criminalizing one’s ability to convert to Christianity, and in 2018 the prime minister said that anyone found changing their religion will result in expulsion from Nepal[5]. Finally, Nepal is a source country for the trafficking of men, women, and children for the purposes of commercial sexual exploitation and involuntary servitude[6]. Let’s Pray…

-God, we thank you for the work of your hand in Nepal. We thank you for salvation and pray for your believers to seek you out with all their heart, soul, and strength. We pray for an infilling of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control over your Christians. We pray for your protection over those seeking your grace, and for strong unity amongst the body of Christ. Help them to love those who hate them. Jesus, help them to be like you. We pray for transformational leadership training over the younger generation in Nepal. Help this generation fulfill the calling you have placed upon their lives. God, help this nation train children in the way they should go, so that when they are old they will not turn from it. God, we pray for freedom for the gospel of Jesus Christ in Nepal.*

-Jesus, we pray for the softening of hearts over everyone who does not know you. Help them to hear your voice Holy Spirit in regards to sin and righteousness. Yeshua, help them to proclaim your name as their Lord and Savior. Father, help them to walk out all the plans that you have for their lives.

-Jesus, we lift up the government to you. We pray over every elected official and their families, and we ask for you Yeshua to reveal yourself to their families. We pray that you God would pour out your spirit on all people, that their sons and daughters would prophecy, that their old men would dream dreams, and their young men would see visions.** Father, transform this government and this nation to a God fearing nation covered in the blood of Jesus Christ. Father, let you agenda be executed in this nation and may your blessings overflow in this nation so greatly that they wouldn’t have enough space to contain it. Father, we pray a blessing over this economy and that you would help them to move forward and continue to grow their economy.

-God, we lift up the poor to you in Nepal. Father, we pray that you would defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; that you would maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Father, rescue the weak and needy in Nepal.*** We pray for the provision of food, water, clothing, education, shelter, and freedom. We pray for an economic blessing over the agricultural sector and that all the glory would be yours Jesus. We pray a blessing over the hydropower sector in this nation, and we pray for wisdom and success in moving forward this industry.

-God, we lift up the refugees and stateless persons in Nepal, and pray for your love to go with them and prepare their new home for them. We pray for strong community support and for the Nepalese to cover them with your love. We pray for the provision of all their needs and for their hands to find work according to their skill sets. Thank you God.

-Father, we pray against the human trafficking in Nepal. We pray your hand of protection over the women, children, and men who are currently at risk of being trafficked. We pray for your angelic guides to intervene from such actions taking place. We lift up the current victims and ask for them to rest in the care of their loving creator Yahweh. We pray for freedom for the captives and ask for emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual healing. We ask for the traffickers to be convicted by the holy spirit of their sin and to fully repent. Utilize these individuals to topple the trafficking industry.

-Jesus, we pray against the drug production and trafficking within this nation. Father, we pray that you would halt the production of these drugs beginning with the land and ending with transformed hearts convicted of righteousness. We pray for an increased angelic presence on the borders to keep drugs out of Nepal. We pray for healing over the minds of drug users in Nepal.

-To the people of Nepal, we pray that the Lord would bless you and keep you. That the Lord would make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; and that the Lord would turn His face toward you and give you peace. Amen.
