Malawi

After three devastating decades of a dictatorial rein coming to an end in 1994, the nation moved to free elections yet still seeks out wise leaders to strategically improve the long-term economy, infrastructure, and welfare for the people of Malawi. Malawi is a landlocked nation which ranks among the world’s most densely populated and least developed nations[1]. The economy is predominately agricultural with about 80% of the population living in rural areas[2]. About 5% of the total population and 9% of the adult population are living with HIV/Aids[3]. Finally, Malawi is a source, transit, and destination country for men, women, and children trafficked for the purposes of forced labor and sexual exploitation[4]. The Holy Spirit is doing great works in this nation today. May our prayers continue to press forward the plans of the Holy Spirit in Malawi this day. Let’s Pray…

-Jesus, Savior of the world. We pray for your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control to continue to fill up this nation. God, we pray that your believers would seek to love you with all their heart, soul, and strength. Let your believers be filled with the Holy Spirit and may they continue to display your works of love across the entire nation. Father, may your name be glorified in Malawi, and may the lost repent of their sins through the name of Jesus Christ and receive salvation.*

-God, help your children’s hearts be fully committed to the Lord our God. Help them to live by your decrees and obey your commands.  We pray that parents would train their children in the Word of God, and that your Word would be deeply rooted in their hearts.

-Father, we lift up every government leader in Malawi to you. Father, we pray that they would be people who seek after intimacy with you God with all their heart, soul, and strength.** Let them be people who strive to execute the agenda of the Holy Spirit, and let them be people receptive to taking in the Word of God daily. We pray for political stability in the nation of Malawi. Holy Spirit, we pray that you would rule through these leaders so they could become a holy nation with the end goal of sanctification by the Holy Spirit.

-Lord Jesus, we lift up your Malawians living with HIV/AIDS. Father, we pray for the healing of thousands daily in Malawi, and that your name Yahweh would receive all the glory, praise, and honor in this nation. Thank you Jesus.

-Yeshua, we pray that you would shut down the human trafficking business in Malawi. We ask for angels to be stationed at bars and rest houses where women are trafficked, and for protection to be placed over the victims. We pray for salvation to come to the oppressed and poor. We pray for healing and restoration over those held captive. We ask for conviction to fall upon the guilty, and we pray your grace would lead them to repentance, salvation, and restoration.

-We lift up the poor in Malawi. Lord Jesus, we pray for the daily provisions of food, clean water, shelter, clothing, clean sanitation facilities, and basic necessities for all your Malawians.

-Father, we lift up the refugees and internally displaced persons in Malawi. God, we pray for healthy communities and Godly fellowship for these individuals and families entering new surroundings. Father, help them to receive necessary supports and we pray each individual to know you God and to have intimacy with you through the son Jesus Christ. Amen.
