Libya
Libya is located in a region comprised almost entirely of Muslims and where Christianity is often restricted. In Libya, Christianity can be practiced yet the faith cannot be shared with others, and attacks have occurred against Christian minorities[1]. Libya is a transit and destination country for men and women trafficked for the purposes of forced labor and sex trafficking[2]. This nation and region needs Jesus. Let’s press forward salvation through our lord and savior Jesus Christ. Let’s Pray…
-(8.16.24 Prayer added by M.K.) God we pray for a movement of discipleship in Libya. God, help followers of Jesus continue to reach their family members, relatives, friends and neighbors. God, reveal your power in Libya, and we pray that many would respond to the Gospel of Christ. For those who are persecuted, we pray for freedom, rest, and healing. God, provide for all their needs and help them to forgive those who have harmed them. We pray for followers of Jesus to be strong spiritually, financially, socially, and politically so they might extend the reach of the gospel. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
-Holy Spirit, we pray that you would convict the nation of Libya of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment. Let the non-believers of Libya hear the voice of the Holy Spirit calling for repentance through the blood of Jesus. Help these believers understand that their sins must be atoned for by Jesus’ sacrifice at Calvary. Holy Spirit, continue to reveal the truth about Islam to this region and penetrate the hearts of this nation with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Let this nation know that you are God and that you love your creation. Remind them that you have paved a way for reconciliation. Help millions of Libyans come to salvation through placing their faith in Christ.*
-Lord Jesus, we lift up your believers in Christ. We pray for each Christian to stand firm and be equipped with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, for their feet to be fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, for their shield of faith, their helmet of salvation, and their sword of the spirit-the word of God. Finally, let these believers pray in the Holy Spirit on all occasions. Let them evangelize through love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, that your gospel may reach all the ends of Libya and this region. Help Christians to find unity and to strengthen one another just as iron sharpens iron. Amen.**
-Father, we pray for the government and we ask for leaders to be under the command of Yeshua HaMashiach. Father we pray for peace in this nation and amongst individual communities. Father, we pray for the increase of employment opportunities for the people of Libya. We also ask for a strengthening of the natural resources base and for consistent electricity. Thank you Jesus.
-Jesus, we pray for freedom for the captives in Libya and those trafficked through this nation. We pray for emotional, mental, and physical freedom for the captives of Libya. Jesus, we pray for fellowship for your captives and emotional restoration for these individuals. Let your Holy Spirit lead their lives in restoration and in purity of fellowship with you God receiving the sacrifice of your son Yeshua on the cross. Amen.
