Liberia

Liberia endured an intense civil war from 1990-1996, in which 250,000 people were killed including 50,000 children[1]. Liberia also endured a 2nd civil war from 1997-2003 which destroyed much of Liberia’s economy and infrastructure in and around the capitol[2]. Poverty remains high with 63% of Liberians living below the poverty line and 85% of Liberians remain unemployed[3]. To add to the challenges, Liberia remains a source, transit, and destination country for women and children subjected to forced labor and sex trafficking[4]. This nation also serves as a transshipment point for cocaine heading to the European and American markets[5]. Finally, the religion of Islam is spreading while Christian converts have reported being mistreated by various Liberian tribes[6]. Know that God is working through the challenges of this nation, and the Holy Spirit is working for the good of the people who are created beings of God. Let’s Pray…

-God, you love your Liberians, and we pray that you would release your love upon this nation. God, we pray for the poor in Liberia. We pray that you would secure justice for the poor and uphold the cause of the needy in Liberia. We pray for the provision of food, clean water, clothing, shelter, and clean sanitation facilities for the people of Liberia. Father, we pray for revival in Liberia, where your people would seek to love you with all their heart, all their soul, and all their strength. Holy Spirit, rain down your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control over your nation. We pray for your body to be united in Liberia Lord Jesus, and we pray for the church to be centered upon the authority of your Word and the preaching of your scripture. Father, help believers to read their bible and live according to the commands of your Word. Let your Word become the authority in the lives of believers.*

-Lord Jesus, we lift up your Liberian refugees. Father, if it is your will, I pray that you would bring them home and reestablish their identity in you. Let them be a bright light where they rest in you, and we pray that you would meet their daily needs Jesus.

-Father, we pray for a renewal of the economy in Liberia as this nations seeks to place you in the center of all that they do. Father, we pray for peace in government and a growing economy with ample opportunities for work and withdrawing resource from the land.

-God, we pray for your children of Liberia. Father, may they call you Abba, and may they dwell in the secret place of the most high, let them abide in the shadow of the Almighty. God, help this nation train children in the way they should go, so that when they are old they will not turn from it. Raise up incredible spiritual leaders who will demolish the kingdom of darkness and bring glory and honor to our Lord Jesus Christ.**

-We lift up the captive in Liberia. God, we pray for your Holy Spirit to protect this young generation held captive by the sins of mankind.  We pray for angelic assignments to be given for every captive individual in this nation. Lord Jesus, we pray for freedom for your captives.  We pray for physical, emotional, and mental restoration for your Liberians, and for them to have a personal relationship with you Jesus Christ.

-Father, we pray peace over our sisters and brothers who are persecuted and mistreated by others. Help them to respond in love to the hands who oppose them. Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. We pray for the Mandingo, Fula, Soso, Gbandi, and Vai tribes and we pray that you Yeshua would reveal your holiness to these tribes, just as you revealed your holiness to Saul on the road to Damascus. We pray that you God would pour out your spirit on these tribes, that their sons and daughters would prophecy, that their old men would dream dreams, and their young men would see visions.*** We pray that every person in each tribe would come to know you Yeshua as Lord and Savior and repent of their sins. Yeshua, help them to live out the plans that you have ordained for their lives. Amen.

-God, we pray over the ports of Liberia. Lord Jesus, we pray that no evil shipments would come through the docks. Let these areas be washed in the blood of Jesus, and may this nation have no part in the evils of drug trafficking. Let their hearts seek holiness, and let their actions shut the door to evil. Bless this nation Jesus and help them to live for you this day, Amen.
