Lesotho
Lesotho is a small mountainous country located within the boundaries of South Africa. Due to a lack of resources in Lesotho, they import 90% of the resources they consume from South Africa[1]. 57% of the population live below the poverty line[2]. Finally, Lesotho is a source, transit, and destination country for women and children trafficked for the purposes of forced labor and sex trafficking and for men trafficked for the purposes of forced labor[3]. Let’s Pray…
-God we thank you for Lesotho and the Christians of this nation. We pray that you would baptize them in the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. Let your word fill all of their heart, all of their soul, and all of their strength, that they would live for you according to your word. We pray that their biblical understanding would increase, and any presence of the enemy within this nation would decrease. Father, continue to train leaders who can empower others as biblical leaders in their community.
-Lord, we lift up the economy and the poor in Lesotho. Lord Jesus, we know that you raise the poor from the dust and lift the needy from the ash heap; that you seat them with princes and have them inherit a throne of honor.* Help them to cling to the hope found in you Jesus. Father, please continue to provide for the needs of your people including food, clean water, education, clothing, shelter, and clean sanitation facilities. Continue to heal the sick, feed the hungry, and provide new opportunities for working in Lesotho. Thank you Jesus!
-Yeshua, we pray that you would shut down the human trafficking business in Lesotho. Father, we pray for angelic assignments to be given for any trafficking victim or potential victims in Lesotho. We pray for salvation to come to the oppressed and poor. We pray for healing and restoration over those held captive and those transported to South Africa and any other nation. We ask for conviction to fall upon the guilty, and we pray your grace would lead them to repentance, salvation, and restoration. We pray that the victims would have the opportunity to be reunited with their families if that is your will.
-Lord, we pray for unity within the churches in Lesotho. We pray for a biblical understanding of your scriptures to be the foundation of house churches, and we pray for unity amongst your body in this nation Jesus. Amen.
