Lebanon

Lebanon’s population is made up of three primary religious groups: Shia Muslims (31%), Sunni Muslims (32%) and Maronite Catholics (32%)[1]. The constitution ensures that these three people groups will be equally represented in government[2]. Family and community members persecute Christian converts from Islam, while Islamic extremists have targeted Christian leaders[3]. In regards to the economy, 28% of the nation lives in poverty[4]. Additionally, Lebanon has become the home for over 1 million Syrian refugees, along with 470,000 refugees from Palestine and Iraq[5]. Lebanon is also a transit country for illegal substances. Lebanon is also enduring bordering land disputes with Syria. Finally, Lebanon is a source, transit, and destination country for the trafficking of women and children for the purposes of sex trafficking and forced labor[6]. Let’s Pray…

-God, we thank you for Lebanon, and the good works that you are doing through this nation. Let your mercies continue to pour out upon the government, and may Yeshua be the head of their state. Father, we pray for the protection of your saints in Lebanon. We pray that they would overflow with your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We pray for each Lebanese Christian to stand firm and be equipped with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, for their feet to be fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, for their shield of faith, their helmet of salvation, and their sword of the spirit-the word of God. Finally, let these believers pray in the Holy Spirit on all occasions.*

-Father, we lift up the Muslims in Lebanon. Let them come to know Yeshua HaMashiach. May they come to know you Jesus with all their heart, all their soul, and all their strength. Turn the plans of the enemy upside down and redeem the plans of these Muslim believers for the gospel of Jesus Christ. We pray that you God would pour out your spirit on all people in Lebanon, that their sons and daughters would prophecy, that their old men would dream dreams, and their young men would see visions.**

-God, we pray for the poor in Lebanon. Additionally we lift up the refugees from Syria, Palestine, and Iraq. We pray for the provision of food, shelter, clothing, clean water, education and clean sanitation facilities for these communities. We also pray for strong communities in a new territory and that they would be well received and taken care of by the government of Lebanon. We pray that the poor would find their hope and salvation in Yeshua.

-Yeshua, we pray that you would shut down the human trafficking business in Lebanon. We pray for salvation to come to the oppressed and poor. We pray for healing and restoration over those held captive. We ask for conviction to fall upon the guilty, and we pray your grace would lead them to repentance, salvation, and restoration. We also pray for angelic protection over the borders of this nation and that no people would be trafficked through this nation. Thank You Yeshua!

-We pray against the impact of drugs in Lebanon. Father, we pray for those producing and transporting the substances through Lebanon to be convicted by the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, please change the atmosphere in Lebanon and break the stronghold of the enemy. Let the borders be kept clean against drug trafficking. Let holiness bring separation from drugs in Lebanon, and may those who have previously struggled with drugs be set free through our Lord Jesus Christ.

-Finally, we lift up the land dispute with Syria. Father, may your hand of grace lead this dispute peacefully and may your name be glorified through the interworking of the Holy Spirit.
