Kenya

Kenya is located in a region where Christian persecution is high. Christian persecution in Kenya is hostile in the Muslim regions of the coast and the Northwest[1]. Muslims are attempting to establish Sharia law in these regions, in which conversion from Islam to Christianity is punishable by death, and the distribution of Christian literature can lead to an imprisonment of up to five years. While there is a growing middle class in Kenya, unemployment and poverty are high[2]. This nation also serves as a source, transit, and destination country for the trafficking of men, women, and children for the purposes of forced labor and sex trafficking[3]. Kenya also serves as home to around 517,000 refugees from surrounding nations alongside having another 309,000 internally displaced persons and 20,000 stateless persons[4]. Kenya has a strong Christian body of believers. Let us pray for missionaries to lead their region to know the love and forgiveness that comes through Jesus Christ. We Pray for…

-Spiritual protection over Kenya. Lord Jesus, let this nation remain your nation and let the believers seek to love you with all their heart, all their soul, and all their strength. We pray for each Christian in Kenya to stand firm and be equipped with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, for their feet to be fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, for their shield of faith, their helmet of salvation, and their sword of the spirit-the word of God. Finally, let these believers pray in the Holy Spirit on all occasions. God, we pray for physical protection over your Christians and for potential converts from the Muslim faith. Thank you Jesus.*

-Your missionaries to press forward your Holy Spirit unto all regions of Kenya and the surrounding regions. We specifically pray over the northwestern and costal region of Kenya, and we pray for Muslims to have their hearts softened to receive your gospel Yeshua. We pray for repentant hearts and the reception of your forgiveness for their sins. We pray that you God would pour out your spirit on all people in Kenya, that their sons and daughters would prophecy, that their old men would dream dreams, and their young men would see visions.**

-God, we lift up the refugees, IDP’s, and the stateless persons in Kenya. Father, may your message of truth and salvation enter into these communities and be received graciously. We pray for refugees who return home to be equipped by the gospel and make a powerful impact on Northern Africa for the kingdom of God. Father, we lift up the internally displaced population in this nation and ask that they would assimilate well in their new communities and that they would embrace healthy Christ centered communities. Father, we lift up the stateless persons and ask for your lead in acquiring proper identification and your lead towards citizenship opportunities.

-Father we pray against the production of illegal drugs and we pray over the ports in Kenya. Lord Jesus, we pray that your holiness would come and convict hearts and minds towards Christ. We pray that hearts would hear your conviction Holy Spirit and they would turn from their ways of sin. We pray that the land would be purified and the docks would be kept holy. Thank you God.

-Yeshua, we pray for the poor in Kenya. God, we pray for government leaders to follow your lead Yeshua, and that they could make economic changes that would bless and raise the per capita GDP of the poor in Kenya. We also pray for the provision of food, shelter, clean water, clothing, and clean sanitation facilities for the poor in Kenya. Thank you Lord Jesus.

-God, we ask for a release for the trafficked victims in Kenya. We pray that you would set free the oppressed in this nation.  We press forward in your grace and ask for mental, emotional, and physical healing over the captives through the blood of your son Yeshua. We ask that the captive would hear your word and accept your saving grace Jesus. Holy Spirit, we ask that you would convict the guilty of their sins and lead them to repentance, salvation, and the plans you have for them. Amen.
