Guyana
Praise God for the work of the Holy Spirit moving through the churches in Guyana. In this nation, 35% of the population live below the poverty line and another 11% remain unemployed[1]. This nation also serves as a source and destination country for men, women, and children subjected to sex trafficking and forced labor[2]. Finally, let’s pray over the maritime boundary dispute between Guyana, Suriname, and Venezuela[3]. Father, we pray for...
-Christians in Guyana to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. We ask that these Christians would teach the new disciples to obey everything that Jesus has commanded.*
-The Hindu population in Guyana, and that you God would pour out your spirit on all the Hindu people, that their sons and daughters would prophecy, that their old men would dream dreams, and their young men would see visions.** Lord help align their eyes with the truth of your son Jesus Christ and the perfect sacrifice He made on the cross. Help them to repent through Christ, and enter into perfect freedom through the cross.
-The gospel to continue to spread amongst the native people groups, and that your Christian leaders would disciple these new believers in the way they should go, so that when the storm comes, their cornerstone would be the Lord Jesus Christ.
-Christ’s light to shine out over any false religions and expose the lies of the enemy. Help people turn from their sins towards you Jesus. Lord we pray that you would equip all your Christians with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, for their feet to be fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, for their shield of faith, their helmet of salvation, and their sword of the spirit-the word of God. Finally, let your Guyanese pray in the Holy Spirit on all occasions.***
-Father, we pray that you would defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; that you would maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed in Guyana. Father rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.**** Father, we pray for the needs of the poor, and pray for the provision of food, water, housing, clothing, education, and work for those in need.
-The victims of human trafficking crimes in Guyana. God, we pray for angelic protection over each victim and potential victim in this nation. We pray that the fear of the Lord would rest upon these victims, and that your blood Yeshua would shatter their bondage and release freedom. We pray for emotional, mental, and physical healing over the captives, and we also pray for salvation for each captive. We ask for conviction to fall upon the guilty, and we pray your grace would lead them to repentance, salvation, and restoration.
-The ports of Guyana to be covered in the blood of Jesus. Convict the hearts of those involved in drug trafficking, and bring them to repentance in the son. We also pray for the end of marijuana production in Guyana. Let these individuals find repentance in the son Jesus Christ. Bring peace and holiness upon the land of Guyana, in Jesus name we pray!
