Guatemala

In the 2nd half of the 20th century, Guatemala experienced a variety of military and civilian governments as well as a 36 year guerilla war ending in 1996[1]. This internal conflict left around 200,000 people dead and created around one million refugees[2]. Guatemala is also a source, transit, and destination country for Guatemalans and Central Americans trafficked for the purposes of commercial sexual exploitation and forced labor[3]. Regardless of the immense hardship, God will continue to move through those who submit their lives to his purposes. Let us lift up our sisters and brothers in this nation. Let’s Pray

-God we lift up Guatemala and pray that this would be a nation unified in the Lord Jesus Christ. God, we pray for an end to violence and for revival to break out in Guatemala. Lord Jesus we pray that you would help your Guatemalans seek you with all their heart, all their soul, and all their strength.* Father, I pray that you would do great things through your church to press forward your agenda of restoration in Guatemala. Father, let your will be done in this nation.

-God, we ask for a release of every trafficked victim in Guatemala. We pray that you would set free the oppressed in this nation. We press forward in your grace and ask for mental, emotional, and physical healing over the captives through the blood of your son Yeshua. We ask that the captive would hear your word and accept your saving grace Jesus. Holy Spirit, we ask that you would convict the guilty of their sins and lead them to repentance, salvation, and the plans you have for them.

-We pray for those who are poor in the eyes of this world to be rich in faith and inherit the kingdom that you God promised to those who love you.**

-Holy Spirit, we pray that you would convict your people in Guatemala of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness, and judgment. Let them seek salvation through your blood alone Jesus.***

-To the people of Guatemala, we say The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace. Amen.****
