Ghana

Ghana’s economy has fluctuated with the rising and falling of global oil prices. Agriculture employs more than half the workforce while an additional 25% remain unemployed[1]. One major prayer point for their economy is for consistent electricity[2]. Ghana also serves as a current home for refugees from Côte D’Ivoire[3]. This nation is also a producer of cannabis and serves as a hub for drug trafficking[4]. Ghana also suffers from widespread crime and money laundering[5]. Finally, Ghana is a source, transit, and destination country for women, men, and children trafficked for the purposes of forced labor and sex trafficking[6]. Let’s pray.

-God, we lift up Ghanaians who identify themselves with our Lord Jesus Christ. We pray that they would seek to know you Christ with all their heart, soul, and strength. May your love fill them up and remove all the dross, so only your Holy Spirit remains. Release your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control within them so they might fulfill your plans for their lives. Enable your servants to be bright lights for those who don’t know you, so that the lost would desire the Holy Spirit and seek out your forgiveness Yeshua.*

-We pray for the refugees in Ghana, and that you Jesus would pour out your peace and grace upon this population. Help them to embrace your love and how you are working through their lives through this displacement. We pray for authentic community and for the each refugee to embrace your blood Jesus as payment for their sins. We also pray for a provision of their daily needs. We additionally pray for the poor in this nation, and ask that those who are poor in the eyes of the world would be rich in faith and inherit the kingdom that you God have reserved for those who love you.** We pray for the provision of employment, food, clean water, shelter, clothing, and clean sanitation facilities for those in need.

-The victims of human trafficking in Ghana. Jesus, we pray that you would free those held in bondage through the sins of mankind, and we pray that they would also receive salvation through the acceptance of your sacrifice on the cross. We pray for your angels to go ahead of the boys forced into labor on Lake Volta and ask for protection and freedom for them. We lift up the girls and ask for angelic assignments to protect their virginity and that your angels would guard them from anyone who seeks to violate them. We pray for emotional, mental, and physical healing over the captives. We ask for conviction to fall upon the guilty, and we pray your grace would lead them to repentance, salvation, and restoration.

-An end to the drug production and money laundering in Ghana. Lord Jesus, we pray for conviction to strike the hearts of those involved in the drug production in Ghana, and that they would repent from their ways. Let them find salvation in you Jesus, and let Ghana serve as a holy country dedicated to our all-powerful God. Let the docks of Ghana be shut down to drug traffickers. We also pray for wisdom and leadership to begin reducing crime until all crime has been shut down in this nation. Finally, we pray for a stable and efficient electrical system through the entire nation of Ghana. In Jesus name we love and pray-Amen.
