French Polynesia

French Polynesia is composed of 5 island archipelagos with about 70% of the population living on the island of Tahiti[1]. Over the last 50 years, the islands have been heavily influenced by a French Colonial presence in which the economy shifted from a sustainable agricultural economy to a tourist and military based economy[2]. The youth (15-24 y.o.) unemployment rate remains the highest in the world while 20% of the population lives in poverty[3]. Let’s Pray…

-Father, we thank you for your presence throughout all the islands of French Polynesia. We pray for an outpouring of your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control on each household. Father, we pray that you God would pour out your spirit on all people, that their sons and daughters would prophecy, that their old men would dream dreams, and their young men would see visions. Father, let hearts be prepared to hear your word. Let your gospel be spread to each people group on each island, and we ask for repentance and salvation to be received through the name of Jesus. Father, we pray for your people to seek to love you with all their heart, soul, and strength.*

-God, we lift up this economy and ask for a blessing as individuals seek to put their trust and hope in Yahweh. Help this nation continue to move in the direction of sustainable income. We pray over this nation’s relationship with France and pray for continued blessing and economic growth throughout the nation. We pray over the development of infrastructure, marine businesses, and other projects and ask for your blessing over these projects and we ask for an increase in long-term employment opportunities for all. Lord Jesus, we pray that you would rule through all government officials on the islands, and that they would be obedient to the call and direction of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
