The nation of Fiji consists of an archipelago of more than 330 islands, of which 110 are inhabited[1]. About 70% of the population lives on the island Viti Levu[2]. The political situation in Fiji has been an area of growth since 1970. Its history is intermixed with military coups and democratic rein[3]. In 2001, a successful democratic election was held and a prime minister was selected and then reelected in May of 2006[4]. In December of 2006, a military coupe overthrew the regime. In 2014, the nation held credible and successful elections with Bainimarama being elected and also being reelected in 2018[5]. The economy in Fiji remains one of the most developed and connected of the pacific island economies[6]. Additionally, Fiji serves as a source country for children trafficked for the purposes of forced labor and commercial sexual exploitation[7]. Fiji also serves as a destination country for women trafficked for the purposes of forced labor and sexual exploitation[8]. Let’s Pray…

-Yahweh, Yeshua, Holy Spirit, we thank you for your grace and presence on the islands. Father, we pray over every follow of Christ in Fiji. We pray for each Christian to stand firm and be equipped with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, for their feet to be fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, for their shield of faith, their helmet of salvation, and their sword of the spirit, the word of God. Finally, let these believers pray in the Holy Spirit on all occasions.* Help them to live as a bright light for your kingdom here on the islands. 

-Father, we pray over the government and all the officials on the island. Holy Spirit, we pray that they would submit to your authority and your rule through their lives. Help them to do all things through you, and help their economy continue to prosper through their leadership. Thank you God.   

-Father, we pray for healing to take place among those with Indian decent. Holy Spirit, overflow your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control upon this people group.** We pray for equality and peace among all people groups in Fiji.

-God, we lift up the health and wellness of the Fijians on the islands and pray that you would bless and encourage them towards increased exercise and healthier eating habits. We also pray for those who are poor in the eyes of this world to be rich in faith and inherit the kingdom that you God promised to those who love you.*** 

-God, we ask for angelic assignments to be placed over each trafficking victim or potential victim on the islands. Yeshua, we pray for your divine protection over each individual. God, we ask for a release for these victims in Fiji. We pray that you would set free the oppressed in this nation. We press forward in your grace and ask for mental, emotional, and physical healing over the captives through the blood of your son Yeshua. We ask that the captive would hear your word and accept your saving grace Jesus. Help the victims enter into healing and life breathing communities. Holy Spirit, we ask that you would convict the guilty of their sins and lead them to repentance, salvation, and the plans you have for them. Amen.
