Curacao

This territory was originally settled by Arawak Indians and eventually was seized by the Dutch in 1634[1]. Curacao became the center of the Caribbean slave trade in the 17th and 18th century, yet praise be to God that slavery was abolished by the Dutch in 1863[2]. With the dissolution of Netherlands Antilles in 2010, Curacao is now a self-governing state within the kingdom of Netherlands[3]. Let’s Pray for healing from the sins of slavery alongside the current struggle of human trafficking on the island.

-God, we come before you and ask for an infilling of your holy spirit to cover this nation’s past sins of slavery. Father, we pray for healing over those whose ancestors were slaves and we pray for a shift in societal norms and thought processes in regards to power, privilege, and racism. Yeshua, we pray that your blood would cover and heal the sins of racism. Let this injustice seize to be a hindrance to this region.

-We lift up the victims of human trafficking crimes in Curacao. God, we pray for angelic protection over each victim and potential victim in this nation. God, we also pray for angels to be stationed at the docks and borders protecting anyone that comes in and anyone trying to be smuggled out of the country. We pray that the fear of the Lord would rest upon these victims, and that your blood Yeshua would shatter their bondage and release freedom. We pray for emotional, mental, and physical healing over the captives, and we also pray for salvation for each captive. We ask for conviction to fall upon the guilty, and we pray your grace would lead them to repentance, salvation, and restoration.

-God, we lift up your church in the islands and we pray for peace and healing to take place within the congregations. Father, we pray that unity would be found throughout the body on the island and that the message of salvation and repentance alongside social justice would be led through the work of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
