Comoros
The archipelago of the Comoros is composed of four islands in the Indian Ocean which declared its independence in 1975, but France did not recognize the independence of Mayotte, which remains under French Administration[1]. Comoros is one of the world’s poorest countries, due to inadequate transportation, a rapidly increasing population, and few natural resources[2]. With nearly 781,000 inhabitants, 45% of the population live below the poverty line[3]. Since declaring independence, the islands have endured a high level of political instability. This is a Muslim nation and they need much prayer to come to know the Lord Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, Comoros is also a restricted nation for Christianity. Christians are socially discriminated in society, with limitations on where the gospel can be spoken[4]. Finally, Comoros is a source, transit, and destination country for women and children subjected to forced labor and sex trafficking[5]. Let’s intercede for the poor, the oppressed, and those who don’t know Jesus! Let’s press forward the agenda of the Holy Spirit to break the stronghold of the enemy in Comoros!
-Father in Heaven, our wonderful creator, you know each soul on your islands. Lord Jesus, meet them where they are. Send your mercy upon them by pouring out your spirit on all people in Comoros, that their sons and daughters would prophecy, that their old men would dream dreams, and their young men would see visions.* Jesus, help them to know you through the power of the Holy Spirit!
-Lord Jesus, let the religion of Islam decrease, and let your kingdom increase on these islands. We fight alongside you Jesus through intercession. We pick up our sword to fight the enemy on the islands. God, help your people be still and know that you are God. That you will be exalted among the nations, that you will be exalted in the earth.** Break the chains of Islam, so that souls may be saved through our Lord Jesus Christ.
-God, we pray for the poor on the islands. We lift up transportation systems, the increasing population, and the natural resources on the island. We pray for a blessing in these areas as the believers respond to the movement of the Holy Spirit. Let it be known on the islands that despite persecution, divine blessing from our Holy God will follow those whom He can call His children.
-We lift up the government on the islands, and pray that they would serve the people of the islands. Help them to best meet the needs of the people, and we pray for divine revelation for your leaders. Help them to know you, and use them to lead many to you Yeshua.
-Father, we lift up the Christians on the islands, and we pray for unity and protection for them. Let your people place you like a seal over their heart, like a seal on their arm, for your love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. Let your love burn like a blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Fill your people with your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Equip them with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, for their feet to be fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, for their shield of faith, their helmet of salvation, and their sword of the spirit-the word of God. Finally, let these believers pray in the Holy Spirit on all occasions. Let them stand firm on the cornerstone of Jesus Christ, that their foundation would be unshakable unto death. Help their lives bring thousands upon thousands to know you Jesus.***
-Jesus, we pray that your blood would set the captives free. Let your creation that is forced into labor, abused sexually, and remain slaves to men be blessed by the hands of Jesus, our king of the universe. Send your people to break the chains of human trafficking in Comoros. Let governments intercede so this evil would be halted in Jesus name! Father, let the power of your name bring those in sin to repentance. Help them to understand your holiness, so they might flee from evil and seek repentance through the son Jesus! We pray for physical, mental, and emotional healing over every trafficked victim in this nation Lord Jesus. Amen.
