Algeria
Algeria is an Islamic nation where the gospel of Jesus Christ is restricted[1]. Algerian Christians face persecution from family, neighbors, employers, Muslim extremists, and the government[2]. The constitution names Islam as the official state religion and prohibits practices considered contrary to it[3]. In the midst of the gospel being restricted, God’s church is growing through His people empowered by the Holy Spirit. It is a spiritual battle, but the enemy does not compare on any level to the Holy Spirit! Let us continue to trust in the power of the Holy Spirit as we pray for the people and nation of Algeria. We pray for…
-The protection of those who know you Jesus! Equip them with your armor including the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, for their feet to be fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, for their shield of faith, their helmet of salvation, and their sword of the spirit, the word of God. Finally, let these believers pray in the Holy Spirit on all occasions. Empower and strengthen your people God to do your will and scatter your seeds on good soil. Let your Christians evangelize through love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.*
-You God to pour out your spirit on all people, that their sons and daughters would prophecy, that their old men would dream dreams, and their young men would see visions.** Let them know the Lord Jesus Christ and the free gift of salvation you have for each individual in Algeria. Father, break the lies of the enemy and expose the false doctrine of Islam. Jesus, let them know there is one path to the Father through you our Lord and king!
-The protection of your local churches in Algeria. We pray for the extremists who are fighting you Yeshua to meet you and have their sins exposed before them. Remove the blinders from their eyes and use them as you used Saul! We pray for your churches and for their pastors and their families. God we lift them up to you and pray that you would continue to let your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control shine through.*** Thank you Jesus!
-The poor in Algeria and for your compassion and mercy to pour out upon these individuals. God we know that you raise the poor from the dust and lift the needy from the ash heap, that you seat them with princes and have them inherit a throne of honor. Lord, we pray for your poor and ask for your supernatural provision of food, water, clothing, shelter, and clean sanitation facilities. We lift up the fatherless, and pray that you God would be their father, and teach them the ways of your son Jesus Christ.
-The victims of human trafficking in Algeria. Father, breakthrough in love and let the chains be broken on the enslaved, on the abused, and on your precious daughters. Lord Jesus, we pray that their hope is found in you. Let your blood bring redemption, and let your love pour out upon them that they might know that you are a God of justice. Father, bring an end to human trafficking in Algeria. We ask for conviction of the Holy Spirit to fall on the guilty, and that you would bring these individuals to repentance and salvation.
-Father, help your Christians to love you with all their heart, all their soul, and all their strength.**** Let this love release an overflowing presence of the Holy Spirit within Algeria.
